“Adventure of Humanity” to collaborate with DEVI Sansthan around the ALfA, Accelerated Learning for All to bring educational programs to children and illiterate people around the World.
DEVI Sansthan (Dignity Education Vision International) is a non-profit organization based in Lucknow, India, dedicated to providing quality education with dignity to underprivileged children and adults. DEVI’s vision revolves around achieving universal Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) for all individuals. Through its flagship Global Dream Disruptive Literacy program, DEVI is driving significant transformation by employing research-backed, rapid, scalable, and replicable methods and approaches to FLN.
ALfA – Accelerated Learning for All, a groundbreaking approach to literacy education tailored to the student’s existing knowledge. A creative, enjoyable, and interactive method for mastering numeracy in a short time period.
Using the Global Dream ALfA (Accelerating Learning for All) approach, learners can attain FLN capability in 3-5 months, a substantial reduction compared to the typical 3-5 years in traditional schooling. The Global Dream FLN toolkits, available in 15 Indian and 10 international languages, are being replicated in numerous regions. DEVI is also developing an interactive Literacy Now app to deliver large-scale FLN at minimal costs through volunteer efforts.
DEVI Sansthan’s primary initiative, the Global Dream Disruptive FLN program, aims to address the FLN crisis through its swift, research-based, scalable, and replicable ALfA methodology. This includes implementing the 90 Day FLN program in government schools across various states to bridge FLN gaps for primary school children. DEVI provides training to math and language teachers, master trainers, and middle-level managers of government institutions on using the Global Dream ALfA methodology.
Collaborating with state and district governments, NGOs, schools, and other institutions globally, DEVI is accelerating FLN for children and adults. In government schools, DEVI supports the implementation of the NIPUN Bharat Mission, targeting Universal FLN in primary education in India by 2025. The Teach At least One campaign engages adolescent student volunteers in teaching illiterate learners, reaching nearly 500,000 school children since 2014. DEVI is also a knowledge partner for various NGOs, contributing to community-based interventions to enhance FLN for children and illiterate adult women.
Founded by Dr. Sunita Gandhi, an educationist and former World Bank economist, DEVI Sansthan benefits from her expertise and leadership. Dr. Gandhi, the Hon. Chief Academic Advisor of City Montessori School, holds the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest School, received the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education, and has been recognized with awards such as Educator of the Year 2015 by the India Book of Records and Visionary of Uttar Pradesh by the government.
