Adventure of Humanity Brings a Royal Touch to the 250,000 Free Meals Campaign

Adventure of Humanity honoring and supporting the One Meal Campaign, which distributed 250,000 free meals across London during the Covid pandemic.

The importance of giving back

Through the Panas Helping Hands charitable initiative, the meal campaign began by providing hot meals for NHS staff, key workers and vulnerable people in the local community during the Covid pandemic. Support also reached British and Gurkha veterans, people experiencing homelessness and Ukrainian refugees.

The initiative continued beyond the immediate pandemic response, including weekly food deliveries to the Woolwich Service Users Project, which supports people experiencing homelessness in South East London. In the article “The Importance of Giving Back”, the initiative reported delivering more than 250,000 meals in total.

Giving back turns resources, skills and community connections into practical care. A meal can meet an immediate need while reminding someone that they are part of a community. Adventure of Humanity honors and supports this spirit of solidarity and the people who keep it alive.

Pictured here are moments from the meeting at the Queen's private residence at Bridgewater House, 9 Little St. James Street, with Sujan Katuwal, owner of Panas restaurant.
