Adventure of Humanity’s president Richard Nilsson makes a solemn entrance into the Kyoto International Conference Center to pay homage to Mikhail Gorbachev and his organisation Green Cross International. Green Cross International’s roots can be traced back to President Mikhail Gorbachev’s time in office as Head of State of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, a period during which he spoke repeatedly about the interrelated threats humanity and our Earth face from nuclear arms, chemical weapons, unsustainable development, and the man-induced decimation of the planet’s ecology.
We stand firmly in support of the 30-year anniversary since the signing of the peace charter. Despite the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts to eliminate nuclear weapons, the specter of madness continues to haunt us, propelling our ongoing mission.
Mikhail Gorbachev (1931-2022) was a prominent Soviet and Russian politician who held the position of the eighth and final leader of the Soviet Union from 1985 until the country’s dissolution in 1991.
The Kyoto International Conference Center stands as a remarkable conference facility situated in Takaragaike, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Designed by the architect Sachio Otani, it features an unconventional hexagonal framework, resulting in minimal vertical walls or columns. The center first opened its doors in 1966 and saw an expansion in 1973. It notably served as the venue for the signing of the Kyoto Protocol.
