Madiba 105th birthday anniversary celebrated with food parcel and blanket distribution!!
Mvezo Komkhulu (The Great Place), Sunday, 16th July 2023: This year we will be celebrating 105 years since the birth of President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (Aah, Dalibhunga). From humble beginnings he grew into a formidable leader of the Anti-Apartheid struggle and founding father of a democratic South Africa.
He grew in stature as a statesman revered globally as an icon of human rights, justice and dignity for all. His legacy of solidarity with oppressed peoples of the world endeared him to people in the most remote places of the world.
His committed his life to nation building, national reconciliation and social cohesion as the lodestar for transforming South Africa and building the country of our dreams. This is still work in progress and we owe it to him and ourselves to advance this cause.
He gave his life to build a better South Africa, a united and prosperous Africa and a just world order in which the fundamental rights and dignity of every human is respected.
The UN declared Nelson Mandela International Day is a good reminder to all of us to acknowledge his contribution and to recommit ourselves to upholding all that he stood for.
Millions around the globe annually respond to the call to honour this day and make a difference in the lives of the oppressed and less fortunate by offering up 67 minutes and engage in philanthropic acts.
Today we will be paying tribute to his legacy by distributing blankets and food parcels to Chief Thanduxolo Mtirara at Sithebe Traditional Council; and to Nkosikazi Nobulali Mtirara of Mqhekezweni Traditional Council where Madiba was raised by the Regent Chief Jongintaba Mtirara. We will be targeting 105 beneficiaries in each council with the support of African Muslim Agency (AMA).
We urge people all around the world to follow this example no matter how small your contribution but it will make a difference in the life of those who deserve it most.
